The City Government of Olongapo committed to raise its performance for the 2019 Seal of Good Local Governance during the city's 2018 SGLG Exit Conference on February 28.
Acting City Mayor Sarah Lugerna Lipumano-Garcia, during her message, enjoined all the concerned City Department Heads and representatives and functionaries to work as a family and help one another to provide the services and documents required by the SGLG to receive higher score (in the SGLG assessment).
Acting Mayor Lipumano-Garcia, the Department Heads and City SGLG focal persons reflected on the city's SGLG Governance Assessment Report which lists the SGLG Governance Areas and Indicators the Local Government Unit successfully complied or fell short. Afterwards, the participants identified all the gaps and recommended actions to raise their compliance.
The DILG-OC also awarded a Certificate of Recognition symbolizing the city's commitment towards good local governance and passing 3 out of 7 Local Governance Areas for the year 2018, namely: Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness; Environmental Management; and Tourism, Culture and Arts.
The 2018 SGLG Exit Conference was spearheaded by the City Government of Olongapo, in coordination with the DILG-OC.
