The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 3 spearheaded the conduct of the General Orientation or the first component of the 52nd Batch LGOO Training. The activity, attended by sixteen (16) personnel, was conducted on December 1-7, 2018 at the DILG Regional Office Conference Room.
The 7-day live-in orientation aimed to equip the LGOO trainees with the knowledge and necessary competencies needed in the performance of their duties as Local Government Operations Officers (LGOOs) particularly on the various basic concepts and areas on governance in relation to the mandate of the Department. Likewise, this activity also served as a preparation for the next phase of trainings they will go through.
Highlighted in the orientation were the roles of DILG in local governance, the Philippine Local Government System, the salient features of the Local Government Code of 1991, and some important administrative matters. Presentations, workshops, plenary discussions, and open forums were conducted by the resource persons to tackle the different modules intended for the activity.
During the last day of the orientation, an examination was administered to gauge the learnings and assess the competency level of the LGOO II trainees. In her message, RD Julie J. Daquioag encouraged the trainees to always have the passion and enthusiasm in hurdling the succeeding phases of the training. With very much confidence and optimism, she believes that the 16 trainees from Region 3 will make it to the cut and be part of the 100 center trainees nationwide.
