Under Sec. 69 of Republic Act No. 8551, the Department of the Interior and Local Government shall provide for the per diem and insurance coverage of PLEB members in certain low income municipalities.
To this end, three (3) municipalities in the province of Tarlac belonging to the 5th and 6th income classes were provided with a subsidy amounting to Php 110,000.00 to be utilized for the per diems and creation of dedicated PLEB office.
LGUs are directed to include in their annual budget an allocation for the maintenance and operation of their local PLEBs. However, due to limited resources, some LGUs may not be able to allocate such fund.
