The DILG Regional Office III walked its talk about disaster preparedness by joining the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on November 5, 2018 at the DILG Regional Office III, Maimpis, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
All present employees in each division of the regional office took part on the earthquake drill and undertook the "duck-cover-hold" exercises before carefully moving to the designated evacuation area. After which, LGOO IV Christian Red Mejia presented a brief assessment and conveyed reminders to further improve the preparedness of DILG R3.
Thereafter, RD Julie J. Daquioag addressed the employees and stressed the importance of such activities in the face of actual disasters. According to her, the best thing we can do about floods, earthquakes, and the like is to ensure that our preparations are made.
"Walang tatalo sa tamang paghahanda sa harap ng mga ganitong sakuna", RD Daquioag conveyed.
The 4th Quarter NSED also coincides with the observance of the World Tsunami Awareness Day on November 5.
