A stronger involvement of the youth towards Peace and Order and Disaster Resiliency were the main objectives of the first Youth Summit conducted in the province initiated by Gov. Lilia G. Pineda on August 2, 2018.
With the 3,660 elected SK Officials in attendance, Gov. Pineda and other key national and local officials imparted knowledge on local governance and presented key programs advocating for peace and order and disaster preparedness among others.
DILG Pampanga Provincial Director Myrvi Apostol Fabia, together with LGOO V Dianne Lorin Tapnio, presented the Roles and Functions of the SK Officials on Peace and Order, Barangay Anti – Drug Abuse Council and the utilization of the 10% SK Funds.
PDEA Dir. Gen. Aaron Aquino talked about the vital role the SK officials can play in the fight against illegal drugs, noting that their presence at the grassroots level could be a means to directly monitor the situation of their respective barangays.
In her message, Gov. Pineda encouraged the youth officials to prioritize programs that will contribute to the betterment of the peace and order situation of the province. Moreover, she told them to assist the provincial government in the effective delivery of basic services among the constituents.
In the same event. Gov. Pineda also delivered the profile and state of the province highlighting the accomplishment of the provincial government.
Other key speakers who graced the activity and discussed topics about Disaster Management and Community – Based DRRM were PDRRM Officer Angelina Blanco and Ms. Ana Ria Barrera of the People's Disaster Risk Reduction Network.
