As part of the continuous integration of health and disaster preparedness, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 3, being the vice-chairperson for preparedness area, launched the DILG Health Corner on July 25, 2018 at the Local Government Resource Center, DILG Regional Office III, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
The DILG Health Corner provides basic healthcare services and preventive measures against illness of employees and clientele who need immediate medical attention. Among all the DILG Regional Offices, this region is the first to put up a health corner.
DILG R3 Regional Director Julie J. Daquioag, Ph.D., CESO IV gave emphasis on the importance of good health condition of employees in order to provide quality public service. RD Daquioag also highlighted the operation listo quote saying "sa kamay mo nakasalalay ang kaligtasan mo" which is a testimony that safety and health should not be compromised.
MED Chief Lerrie S. Hernandez mentioned that while we assist Local Government Units to be prepared for possible disasters, we should also capacitate ourselves by practicing what we are teaching.
Some of the services offered are blood pressure and blood sugar reading, nebulization and Ambu Bag which is used to provide positive pressure ventilation to patients who are not breathing adequately.
DILG Region 3 employees are enthusiastic and grateful for this initiative as they feel worthy and well cared for by the management.
