We are your DILG.
This is the key message we want to impart to all the local government units, national government agencies, and other concerned sectors, most especially the public as we welcome you to the official website of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Through this website, we would like to give you access to relevant and up-to-date information about the Department’s thrusts, programs, projects and activities. More importantly, we would like to know how we can be of better service to you.
Hence, the website will feature news and updates on the key programs and policies of the Department, a brief history of the DILG, its vision and mission statements, information about local chief executives of the different local government units of the country, and legal opinions on local administration.
In our effort to reach out to the public, we have installed an interactive feature in this Website, the Public Assistance Desk (PAD), wherein the general public can e-mail their queries or report important information or complaints concerning the Department and its attached agencies.
Realizing the power of text messaging, another feedback mechanism that we institutionalized is Text DILG (“DILG [space] name [optional] [space] message”), wherein the public can text their important messages and queries to 2256 for Globe/Smart/Sun subscribers.
We also take pride in the fact that we post in this website the budget and status of funds of the Department and its attached agencies. This is one of our initiatives not only to ensure transparency in all of the Department’s transactions, but more importantly, to secure feedback from the public on how we can judiciously utilize the funds of the DILG for their benefit. Aside from the DILG budget, we shall also be posting the Department’s procurements, bidding processes and other pertinent information that the public may wish to know.
Other interesting features of the website include: frequently asked questions (FAQs) about local governance, highlight of monthly events, important issuances or directives, and links to the websites of DILG attached agencies, regional offices, local government leagues and the Office of the President.
To all the visitors of this website, let us work together to become an instrument of change in the local governments, peace and order and public safety sectors of our society. Work with us to make a difference in the lives of our people. Again, welcome to the DILG website!
