   March 9, 2015, Provincial Capitol, Pampanga- In support of Presidential Proclamation No. 227 S. 1988 Celebrating National Women’s Month, with the theme, “Juana, Desisyon mo ay Mahalaga sa Kinabukasan ng Bawat Isa, Ikaw Na!”, the Provincial Government of Pampanga, together with various National Government Agencies and the Department of the Interior and Local Government-Pampanga kicked-off the month long celebration with a flag-raising ceremony and some healthy Zumba dance routines.

  The festive mood of the celebration started early in the morning at 5:30 am participated by a sea of purple-dressed proud women of the province. It was headed by none other than the matriarch of the province, Hon. Gov. Lilia G. Pineda, fitted with purple gym outfit and rubber shoes all ready to sweat it out for the Zumba dance off.

   Representing the Department of the Interior and Local Government – Pampanga is Provincial Director Myrvi Apostol-Fabia, CESO V, who also participated with the morning dance exercises and flag raising ceremony. In her message, she congratulated the Province of Pampanga for strengthening the participation of women in governance and added, “Let us all continue to empower women in governance, but let us also not forget the basic foundation of being a woman, that is to be the guide and the light in each and everyone’s home.”

   The ageless Gov. Lilia G. Pineda stressed out the importance of women’s health in the society. “The way to strengthen women must start with the women themselves. Let’s continue to take care of ourselves and I will also continue to provide programs in strengthening and promoting women’s welfare.”
Some of the programs intended for the benefit of women in Pampanga are, “Buntis Congress” which aims to educate mothers of different age group about the appropriate nourishment of their children through pre-natal to post-natal care. “Consciousness on Women’s Health” and “Singleness Congress” are all in line to name a few.
