PAMPANGA – In observance of the Police Community Relations Month, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 3 (DILG R3), together with members of the DILG Family and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), held a Media Dialogue on Police Community Relations (PCR) on July 11, 2016 at the NEDA Regional Office 3.

In line with this year's theme of "Matatag na Ugnayan, Ligtas na Pamayanan", resource speakers from the DILG Family namely NAPOLCOM, PNP, BJMP, BFP, RTC3 and DILG, as well as PDEA, briefly discussed their accomplishments especially those in line with crime prevention.

In her presentation, DILG Regional Director Florida M. Dijan focused on the Anti-Drug Abuse initiatives of the government which are coursed through the LGUs.

She also shared the words of the newly appointed Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Ismael Sueno who said that, "Empowered Filipinos can help eliminate drugs, criminality and corruption," which is why the Department is encouraging everyone to work together in solving the problem of criminality in the country.

After the discussions, an open forum followed where media practitioners and campus journalists from various media outlets and universities asked questions and timely issues pertaining to the drug-related initiatives of the new administration.

The conducted Media Dialogue is just one of the activities in line with the celebration of Police Community Relations Month which is celebrated every month of July, pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 783, with the NAPOLCOM as lead agency and the PNP as the implementing agency.
