The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region III, through the Local Government Capability Development Division's Consultancy and Technical Assistance Section (LG-CDD-CTAS), successfully conducts the "Enhancing the Capacity of Barangays on Effective Fiscal Management Towards Full Devolution"

This capacity development activity, conducted from June 9 to 10, 2022 at Best Western Bendix Hotel at San Fernando, Pampanga, is an intervention designed to further equip barangays in actively fulfilling their roles and their relevance to development specifically in the area of fiscal management in line with the implementation of full devolution. This is also to ensure the effective and efficient provision of basic services and discharge of devolved duties and functions of the LGUs to the public.

The target barangays for the said activity are:
Barangay Laon and Barangay Barangay Omboy from Abucay, Bataan, Barangay Salacot and Barangay Batasan Matanda from San Miguel, Bulacan, Barangay San Nicolas 1st and Barangay Mabuanbuan from Sasmuan, Pampanga, Barangay Culatingan and Barangay San Nicolas Balas from Concepcion, Tarlac, and Barangay Matayumtum and Barangay San Roque from La Paz, Tarlac.

The topics discussed throughout the duration of the activity were designed with the end goal of revving up local resource generation. These topics include the Local Government Code and Taxation, Barangay Revenue Code, Budget Preparation, Issues on Barangay Financing and Revenue Generation, and Sources of Revenue of the Barangay/Proprietary Functions of the Barangay.

This event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of DILG Central Luzon's Local Governance Regional Resource Center (LGRRC) and the College of Public Administration and Disaster Management of Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST).
