SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA - The Department of the Interior and Local Government Region III (DILG R3) participated in the 3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) today, September 28, 2016 at 9:00 A.M. to ensure preparedness during complications of an actual earthquake.

As the VICE-CHAIRPERSON for DISASTER PREPAREDNESS in the DRRM Act of 2010 (RA 10121), the Department of the Interior and local Government (DILG), through the Local Government Academy (LGA) initiated OPERATION L!STO: an advocacy program in strengthening the preparedness of local government units for disasters using the whole government approach for disaster preparedness.

Relative to the implementation of the Bottom-Up Budgeting (BUB) F.Y. 2014 - 2016 Projects, a site inspection and validation was conducted by the Project Development and Monitoring Section (PDMS) and the Regional Project Monitoring Team (RPMT) last September 14 -15, 2016 in the Municipalities of Paniqui and San Jose, Tarlac with the assistance of MLGOOs, DILG Provincial Focal Persons and LGU Functionaries. The regular project monitoring of DILG Locally Funded Projects aims to expedite completion of project implementation. In summary, 9 projects in Paniqui, Tarlac were monitored while 6 projects were inspected in the Municipality of San Jose, Tarlac.
A Regional Management Meeting headed by RD Florida M. Dijan was held on September 19, 2016 at Capampangan Island, Sindalan, City of San Fernando, Pampanga to provide orientation-briefing and guidance to the DILG provincial and city directors, program managers and cluster team leaders per Province/ HUC regarding the assistance to disadvantaged municipalities program (ADMP) formerly known as Bottom-Up-Budgeting (BUB) program.

PAMPANGA – In line with the National Government's thrust of combating Climate Change and its effects, the DILG R3 conducted a re-tooling on Climate Change Expenditure Tagging (CCET) cum Orientation in its monitoring system for the DILG CCET Regional and Provincial Focal Persons and Communication officers on September 9, 2016.
