The Provincial Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (PCAT-VAWC) of the Province of Bataan underwent its 2025 Functionality Assessment on May 30, 2025, held at the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Capitol Compound, Balanga City.
The activity was led by the Regional Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (RIMTF) for LCAT-VAWC, composed of representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region III, Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Civil Society Organization – ACTION Inc., and the Department of Health – Central Luzon Center for Health Development.
The Provincial Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (PIMTF) also extended its full support, with active participation from Governor Jose Enrique S. Garcia III, DILG Bataan, the Provincial Government of Bataan – Administrative Office, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Civil Society Organization – Pambansang Koalisyon ng Kababaihan sa Kanayunan (PKKK), and the Department of Justice - Bataan.
The functionality assessment aims to evaluate the effectiveness of PCAT-VAWC in implementing programs, services, and mechanisms that prevent and respond to trafficking in persons and all forms of violence against women and their children (VAWC). Initial results revealed positive outcomes, affirming Bataan’s strong commitment to this aim.
The DILG continues to underscore the importance of LCAT-VAWC as a local mechanism for safeguarding the rights, welfare, and dignity of women and children, and remains steadfast in its mandate to monitor and capacitate LGUs in delivering gender-sensitive and rights-based governance.
