In a groundbreaking achievement, Bagac has emerged to be the earliest local government unit (LGU) in the region to successfully complete its P5 Million worth Seal of the Good Local Governance – Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) project entitled "Local Access Road at Barangay Banawang" on April 16, 2023.
In 30 calendar days, the implementing unit has finished the construction of a 330-meter-long and 5-meter-wide concrete pavement which aims to provide safe and convenient transportation to the residents of Barangay Banawang, a place known for its agricultural produce and developing ecotourism sites. Also, the road will not only benefit the farmers who transport their goods and products to the market but also the residents and tourists who travel to and from the barangay especially during the rainy season when the road becomes impassable.
The project has undergone final inspection on May 4, 2023. Present during the activity were LGOO VI Catherine Aduna and the DILG Bataan Locally-Funded Project inspectorate team together with the local functionaries of LGU Bagac including Municipal Engineer Paul Cuartero, SubayBayan Focal Person Leonila Trinidad and representatives from MPDO and MEO, Eugenia Carreon and Engr. Jeck Martin Balboa respectively.
Inauguration of this project is set to be conducted on the 2nd week of May 2023.
