The Department of the Interior and Local Government – Office of Project Development Services (OPDS) in close coordination with DILG R-3 initiated the conduct of the Special Local Roads Fund (SLRF) project monitoring and validation last May 2, 3, 6, and 7, 2013 in various Provinces and Cities of this region.

The project monitoring and validation targeted potential Provinces and Cities for prioritization in the SLRF C.Y. 2013 allocation with pending projects for implementation. Aside from the Seal of Good Housekeeping, proper project implementation is also a parameter in qualifying for the SLRF allocation.

The activity aims to assist concerned LGUs to address issues and concerns that had caused delays and problems in implementing SLRF projects in their areas.  Specifically it aims to meet the SLRF focal person of the Department of Public Works and Highways to reconcile and clarify the current status of all SLRF projects in R-3; advise LGUs with pending SLRF project implementation to ensure project completion and full liquidation in order to be considered priority for SLRF CY 2013 allocation; discuss with all concerned LGUs the project status, liquidation of funds released and submission of all the required technical documents; secure action plans and commitments on project completion of all concerned LGUs with pending SLRF projects; and conduct on-site validation of all concerned projects for monitoring and validation.

The twelve (12) focused LGUs of Central Luzon are (Priority for SRLF CY 2013 allocation with pending project) Olongapo City, City of San Fernando (P), Province of Bataan, (LGUs with pending projects on SLRF) Provinces of Bulacan, Tarlac and Nueva Ecija, Cabanatuan City, Malolos City, Meycauayan City, Palayan City, Science City of Munoz, Tarlac City.
