In view of addressing the poor state of provincial roads across the country, improving the competency of provinces in local road management and in incorporating reforms in public financial management, the National Government has allocated in the FY 2017 General Appropriations Act (GAA) funding for Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP). This program specifically focused on the projects for the Road Repair, Rehabilitation and improvement which will be implemented by the Provincial Government under the guidance and monitoring by the DILG.

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 260 dated September 30, 2011 which declares the last Saturday of March and the second Sunday of October as Barangay Assembly Days, Officials of the Municipality of Baler together with personnel from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and partner National Government Agencies (NGAs) attended the Barangay Assembly in Barangay Buhangin, which was chosen as the Provincial Showcase for 1st Semester of the year 2018 on March 26, 2018.

The Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Management Team (SK PMT), headed by Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr., Provincial Director of the Department of Interior and Local Government – Aurora, convened on March 14, 2017 at the Amihan Aplaya Lodge, Brgy. Sabang, Baler in preparation for the upcoming SK Mandatory Training after the SK election on May 14, 2018.

On July 10-12, 2017, the Liga ng mga Barangay – Dinalungan, Aurora conducted the Seminar-Workshop on the Formulation of CBDRRM Plan, GAD Plan and BCPC Plan cum Advocacy on Federalism at Crown Legacy Hotel, Baguio City.

The fast approaching submission of the Sangguniang Barangay’s 2018 Annual Budget called for the Barangays’ immediate action on the submission of the statutory plans namely the Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan, Gender and Development Plan and Barangay Council for the Protection of Children Plan as an integral part of their Annual Investment Plan and Annual Budget.
