San Luis, Aurora – The local government of San Luis celebrated a major milestone recently with the inauguration of new, state-of-the-art equipment intended to support and grow the town's tourism through creative industries.
The new tools, including modern ICT (Information and Communications Technology) equipment, professional video and photography gear, and specialized animation equipment, were acquired through the FY 2024 SGLGIF, totaling P1,153,000.
The official turnover ceremony was led by key national and local officials. Headlining the event was DILG Region 3 Regional Director Araceli A. San Jose, CESO III. She was joined by Provincial Director Ener P. Cambronero, CTL Ariel G. Espinosa, and MLGOO Jesus L. Vizconde, Jr., along with other regional and provincial personnel.
The equipment was formally received by LGU San Luis Mayor Ariel A. De Jesus and Municipal Administrator Mariane Faithful D. Tubera, alongside other local officials.
In her address, Regional Director San Jose emphasized that the equipment represents more than just a financial investment, stating, "Ang ating ICT at animation tools na ating tinanggap ngayon ay hindi simpleng kagamitan. Ang mga ito ay mga pintuang magbubukas sa innovation, gamit ang makabagong teknolohiya, para maiangat ang ating turismo at malikhaing industriya. Pangalawa ay pag-asa para sa isang kinabukasang mas maliwanag kaysa kahapon. Pangatlo ay kapangyarihan para sa ating kabataan, ang ating mga kababaihan, at local creatives na may tinig, may talento at may kakayanang baguhin ang mundo.”
She concluded her message by urging LGU San Luis officials to use these new resources to make a national impact, “Ngayong araw, sinasabi nating malakas at manilaw. Panahon na upang mas makilala pang lalo ang bayan ng San Luis.”
The new technology is expected to greatly empower San Luis's local artists, entrepreneurs, and youth, helping them to capture, create, and share their unique stories and boost local tourism.
