2025 06 17 NEOThe 2025 Midterm Elections have brought in a fresh wave of leadership across the country. With this new set of elected officials comes a renewed commitment to transparent, inclusive, and responsive local governance. As these leaders step into their roles, they are met with pressing challenges—from sustaining momentum in local development programs to ensuring seamless administrative transitions.

In response, on June 17, 2025, DILG Aurora collaborated with the Provincial Government of Aurora to ensure that Newly Elected Officials (NEOs) are fully equipped to take on their mandates effectively. Under the Newly Elected Officials Performing Leadership for Uplifting Service (NEO PLUS) program and in compliance with DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2025-016, the Department facilitated the planning and coordination for the conduct of turnover ceremonies and the NEO Executive Briefing. This joint initiative with the provincial government aims to provide incoming provincial officials with essential knowledge on governance systems, development priorities, and institutional processes.

At the municipal level, DILG Aurora Field Officers are also working closely with their respective LGUs to conduct Municipal Executive Briefings tailored to the unique contexts of each locality. These briefings serve as critical platforms to promote continuity, align leadership with national-local frameworks, and empower new leaders to lead with competence and integrity.

Through these capacity-building efforts and strategic partnerships, DILG Aurora reinforces its commitment to a smooth and informed transition of local leadership—paving the way for more accountable and effective governance in the Province.
