Baler, Aurora, Philippines – Typhoon Enteng made landfall 2:00PM today in Casiguran, Aurora, bringing moderate rains and winds in Northern Aurora. In response, local government units (LGUs) in Aurora have activated their emergency response plans to mitigate the potential impacts of the storm in accordance with the DILG Operation Listo Protocols.
Prior to the landfall, LGUs had already conducted pre-disaster risk assessment meetings to prepare for such events. These meetings helped identify vulnerable areas, finalize evacuation routes and establish communication protocols. They are closely monitoring the situation and remain committed to protect the lives and property of their residents.
The Provincial Government of Aurora also declared the suspension of classes in all levels of private and public schools today as part of disaster preparedness. Other LGUs also issued directives for the suspension of tourism activities and sailing prohibition.
