On April 3, 2019, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Zambales Provincial Office headed by Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, CESO V led the 2019 Provincial Orientation held at Zambales Training and Conference Center, Iba, Zambales.

The purpose of the activity is to prepare and ensure that the SGLG key players are equipped with information and strategies for the upcoming 2019 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) assessment.

PD Armi V. Bactad enjoined the participation of the local functionaries from the fourteen (14) LGUs who will take lead in ensuring that documents and requirements of each of the seven (7) areas of the SGLG Assessment are prepared.

“We are still hoping na tayo po ay unti-unting tumataas, na tutulong tayong lahat”, said PD Bactad stressing on the importance of proper documentation in the assessment.

Cluster Team Leader/ LGOO VII Melissa D. Nipal discussed the overview of the activity, emphasizing the significance of the seal which recognizes the outstanding LGUs who have performed exemplary delivery to its constituents.

SGLG Focal Person LGOO VI Kristine Joy B. Pesimodiscussed the indicators of the seven (7) areas that the LGUs must meet in order to qualify and pass the assessment while Acting Program Manager LGOO VI Cindy C. Cagalitan discussed the assessment forms to be used.

Through various capacity building activities and efforts, the DILG Zambales expects the province of Zambales to increase its SGLG awardees from only two (2) awardees last year.
