San Marcelino, Zambales- On March 12, 2019, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Zambales Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad together with LGOO VI Rosalinda T. Sarmiento and LGOO VI Cindy C. Cagalitan graced the inauguration ceremony of two (2) FY 2018 Assistance to Municipalities (AM) Projects in the Municipality of San Marcelino, Zambales.

The upgrading of P3,000,000 local access road in Barangay San Rafael and P5,709,849 local access road in Barangay Aglao are the identified priority projects of the municipality under the Assistance to Municipalities (AM) Program. This seven hundred fifty-five meter road now benefits an estimate of 2,900 households who are provided with better access to basic services such as employment, health, education and social services among others. These road projects have continuously served their purpose-by catering local farmers in transporting their products and by being modest link to other communities eager to step into a concrete symbol of progress.

The Assistance to Municipalities (AM) Program (formerly Assistance to Disadvantaged Municipalities) is a funding-support program of the DILG which grants financial subsidy to municipalities in the delivery of basic services for the implementation of their priority programs and projects.
