The DILG Zambales in coordination with the Provincial Government of Zambales conducted the Provincial Alliance Building focusing on the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Utilization Conference on October 17, 2017 at the Zambales Training and Conference Center, Iba, Zambales in its continuing effort to uplift the performance of the local government units.

 The activity was attended by District II Representative Cheryl P. Deloso-Montalla, Vice Governor Angelica Magsaysay-Cheng, Municipal Mayors, Provincial Government and Municipal Head of Offices and representatives from the GSIS.

 In her message Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, CESO V recognizes the commitment of the participating LGUs to public service and for attending the cause despite the suspension of work. She emphasized the importance of the activity as a way to mutually elevate the level of public service of the LGUs. “The seal is just secondary dahil higit dito, ito ay award ng pagkilala sa pagbibigay ng magandang pamamahala at serbisyo”, said PD Bactad.

Provincial Administrative Head Izelle Iamly Delloso presented the proposed scheme using the Zambalinis program with the “Linisin, Linawin, Linangin”­ principles as a model for SGLG. She also appealed for the support of everyone in this cause saying “those at the top can see everything but they can’t do everything”.

The results of the regional SGLG assessment were presented to the participants along with the recommended actions that they can take for improvement. The representatives from the GSIS also presented the status of each LGU when it comes to the collection and remittance of premiums and loans.

As part of the scheme, the participants were tasked to designate a focal person per core and essential area of the SGLG for a more collaborative and seamless approach in hurdling the challenges of local governance.
