The Field Officers and Provincial Office personnel of the Department of the Interior and Local Government-Zambales participated in the conduct of nationwide simultaneous clean-up drive under the KALINISAN (Kalinga at Inisiyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan) sa Bagong Pilipinas Program of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. on January 6, 2024.
Through identified sites within each barangays, the KALINISAN was conducted across the 230 barangays in Zambales through coastal clean-up, dredging of clogged canals, esteros and other waterways, and pruning thick bushes or tree branches, among others. Said undertaking was led by the newly-elected and appointed Barangay and Sanggunian Kabataan (SK) Officials, which started at 7:00am until 11:00am.
The 13 municipalities selected its showcase barangays where municipal officials and functionaries also actively participated.
The KALINISAN Program, which coincide with the celebration of the Annual Community Development Day pursuant to the Proclamation No. 341, is a convergence initiative to consolidate all efforts of the government to maintain and provide a healthy and safe environment for all by capacitating local government units and enabling community participation anchored on the tradition of “bayanihan”.
