The  peace and order and public safety cluster of the Province of Zambales comprising of— Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), and Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) all chaired by Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane, Jr., convened on December 10, 2021 at Balin Sambali, Iba, Zambales and via zoom meeting application for the 4th Quarter Joint Council Meeting to keep each stakeholder abreast of the peace and order updates, issues and concerns in the pursuit of keeping the Province peaceful, orderly and safe.

 

Among the highlights of the meeting include the presentation of the status of COVID-19 efforts, vaccination program implementation and accomplishments during the conduct of the National Vaccination Days last November 29 to December 1, 2021 by Provincial Health Officer Noel C. Bueno, M.D..

 

Likewise, updates on the peace and order in Zambales focusing on threats of terrorism, insurgency, ending local communist armed conflict, criminality and illegals drugs were presented by LT COL Eugene Henry Cabusao, Battalion Commander of the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), newly designated Provincial Director PCOL Fitz A. Macariola of Zambales Police Provincial Office (ZPPO) and IA V Jigger Juniller, Provincial Officer of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), respectively.

On other peace and order and anti-illegal drug efforts and accomplishments, Local Government Operations Officer (LGOO)  II Paulin Johanne L. Reyes, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), presented the results of the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) Functionality Audit for the year 2020, wherein the MADAC of Candelaria, San Marcelino & Subic were assessed as highly functional. LGOO II Reyes also added detailed updates on the implementation of  Capacitating Urban Communities For Peace and Development (CUCPD), as well as that of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) and Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP).

 

As a conclusion for the undertaking, DILG Zambales highlighted the significant accomplishments on the essential peace and order and public safety initiatives conducted this year by recognizing the prime movers who remained committed in promoting the welfare of the Zambaleños

 

To express the gratitude and appreciation of the DILG Zambales Team, to include po the DILG Regional level, we present this plaque of commendation to our very mabait, masipag at kagalang-galang na Provincial Health Officer [Dr. Bueno]…of course [to] Sir [Gov. Ebdane], hindi po magiging safe ang buong Zambales kung hindi po dahil sa Ama ng buong Zambales, ang atin pong Governor”, DILG Zambales Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, CESO V said while awarding the plaques of commendation together with Cluster Team Leader Judith B. Romero to Governor Ebdane and Dr. Noel C. Buenoto honor and recognize their unrelentless public service in responding to the needs of Zambaleños and efforts in combating COVID-19 in the province.
