With the purpose of maintaining its current international certifications on standardization, selected personnel of the City Government of San Fernando attend a three-part seminar series on ISO (International Organization for Standardization) on January 11, 14 and 16 at the Heroes Hall.

“One of my priorities is “e-governace” geared to ensure efficient delivery of services to Fernandinos,” Mayor Edwin Santiago said. “We continue to comply with international standards to become more transparent and accountable,” Mayor Santiago added.

Aside from basic ISO awareness, the seminar will help frontline service providers become effective auditing personnel through the training conducted by CRR Management System Consultancy.

“We will also introduce ISO 19011 which contains guidelines on how to audit Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS), said Cynthia R. Ramirez who serves as the lecturer for the seminars.

“The seminar also aims to improve the auditing systems of our offices especially in implementing a systematic approach in identifying causes and solutions in solving problems we may encounter,” Charisse M. David, a staff of the City Human Resource Development Office explained.

Also present during the seminar were the internal auditors from different offices of the city hall: Supply, Records & Property Management Division (SRPMD), Local Building Official Division (LBOD), City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), City Civil Registry (CCRO), City Assessor’s Office (CASSO), City Human Resource Development Office (CHRDO), Management Information and Technology Division (MITD) and Internal Control Division (ICD).

Since 2005, San Fernando has maintained its ISO certification and has five major processes with are at par with international standards, namely, issuance of business permits, issuance of various real property documents, civil registration, issuance of business permit, and issuance of police clearance.
