             DILG Undersecretary for Local Government Austere   Panadero, together with the DILG Region III Management headed by Regional Director Florida M. Dijan, convened on August 21, 2013 at DILG Regional Operation Center, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.  The meeting was aimed to assess the level of the region’s LGU Disaster Preparedness with the onslaught of Typhoon “Maring” and “Habagat”.

    One of the important points assessed during the meeting was the observance of the Department’s existing calamity response protocols especially the early warning system process being done at the LGU.  Another factor discussed was the determination of available search and rescue teams and equipment for the disaster operations.
    
    USEC Panadero stressed the need for the communities to receive the necessary warnings on time and the availability of disaster equipment and manpower in every LGU.  He also mentioned that the newly minted Local Chief Executives should undergo the Incidence Command System Training.

   Also present during the dialogue were Asst. Regional Director Abraham A. Pascua, Pampanga Provincial Director Myrvi A. Fabia, Bataan Provincial Director Myra A. Moral, Bulacan OIC-Provincial Director Darwin David, City of San Fernando OIC- CLGOO Jose Algy Canlas and Monitoring and Evaluation Division Chief Lerrie S. Hernandez.
