CABANATUAN CITY, NUEVA ECIJA – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Nueva Ecija Provincial Office conducted a Provincial Table Validation on April 4, 2025 to assess and determine the policy compliance of component cities and municipalities in implementing child protection programs and services today, at the DILG Provincial Office, Old Capitol Compound, Cabanatuan City.
The validation activity aims to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of policies, programs, and services toward the welfare of children within the province, in accordance with Memorandum Circular No. 2021-039, which provides for the comprehensive guidelines for the establishment, strengthening, and monitoring of Local Councils for the Protection of Children (LCPC) at all levels.
Provincial Director Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr., CESO V, led the convening of the Provincial Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (PIMTF) in this important undertaking. The PIMTF consists of representatives from key provincial offices including the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), Provincial Health Office (PHO), Provincial Nutrition Action Office (PNAO), Department of Education (DepEd) Nueva Ecija Division, and Civil Society Organization - Ako ang Saklay, Inc.
"This Provincial Table Validation is crucial in our continuous efforts to strengthen child protection mechanisms across all local government units in Nueva Ecija," said Atty. Tactac.
"By assessing the current implementation status of our child protection policies, we can identify areas for improvement and ensure that all children in our province receive the care and protection they deserve."
The Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija, under the leadership of Hon. Governor Aurelio M. Umali, has consistently supported initiatives that promote children's welfare and protection, recognizing that the youth are the province's future leaders and valuable assets.
The validation process involves reviewing reports, evaluating programs, and assessing the functionality of LCPCs in various localities. It serves as an evaluation tool to determine the effectiveness of child protection structures at the local level.
