Baler, Aurora – Barangay Councilors League of the Philippines-Main, Inc. – Aurora Chapter (BCLP-Aurora) organized the first Sangguniang Barangay Members Summit on May 25, 2024, at Baler Convention Center, Brgy. Reserva, Baler, Aurora.

The theme of the first BCLP-Aurora summit was dubbed “BAGONG PILIPINAS: Brand of Governance and Leadership, which calls for a deep and fundamental transformation in all sectors of society and government,” organizing a total of 300 participants from the 151 Barangays in the Province of Aurora.

SBM Larry Dulay, BCLP-Aurora Chapter President, actualized the Provincial Summit and facilitated chapter elections over the seven municipalities present, through the assistance of Hon. Reynaldo Junio, BCLP Secretary General and Founder Emeritus and the support of Hon. Sussana M. Caballes, BCLP – National President. Hon. Dulay prompted the newly elected chapter officers in their distinct roles in local governance—further, Sec. Gen. Junio, in his message, asked for support for his proposed policies to facilitate possible favorable benefits for Sangguniang Barangay Members.

Meanwhile, Dir. Ener P. Cambronero, CESE, DILG – Aurora Provincial Director, expressed his support for the BCLP activity while promoting the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays, encouraging good governance as a way of life. During his message, PD Cambronero asked, “For whom is good governance?” setting off good local governance as a tool for achieving progressive economic development, effective and efficient civil service, inclusive society, and a sustainable environment.

The activity served as a venue for discussing various issues and concerns affecting the barangay governance and legislative performance of Sangguniang Barangays.
