In what has already become a regular activity and advocacy of the Provincial Office, DILG Pampanga led a tree planting activity in Brgy. Gutad, Floridablanca as part of the government's continuing fight to rehabilitate and preserve the waters of Manila Bay.

Together with the field officers and Provincial Office personnel, the team headed earlier to Brgy. Gutad to plant eucalyptus and narra seedlings along the sides of the dike in Purok 6 on October 22, 2021. It has been shown that planting trees help prevent soil erosion and water runoff after storms.
The team was welcomed and joined by municipal and barangay officials headed by Mayor Darwin Manalansan, Vice Mayor Michael Galang and Gutad Punong Barangay and LnB president Jojo Vitug.
In her message, PD Myrvi Apostol-Fabia acknowledges that the battle to restore Manila Bay's former glory will take many years, but she remains optimistic that this will one day come to fruition especially when various stakeholders come together to work on this shared goal.

"We have been doing this regularly in the past years until now. Matagal pa ang laban dahil malaking tungkulin ang kinakaharap natinupang muling buhayin ang Manila Bay. But little by little, through our small acts, we can make a significant difference in this fight to rehabilitate and protect Manila Bay and its surroundings. Of course, we are also counting on the commitment of our LGUs to spearhead the clean-up efforts and help the government win the 'Battle for Manila Bay'."

PD Myrvi also encouraged the local officials to undertake environment-friendly activities even in the midst of the pandemic and ensure that environmental concerns in their locality are addressed.
