In preparation for the training workshop on the formulation of Provincial Governance Reform Roadmap (PGRR), DILG Nueva Ecija, in coordination with DILG Regional Office III and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), conducted the Provincial Capacity Assessment on LRM and PFM on October 11-12, 2018 at Travelers Hotel, Subic Bay Free Port Zone. This was participated in by the local functionaries of the Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija.

The said activity aims to improve the skills, processes and systems of PLGUs in LRM and PFM to effectively plan, design, implement, and maintain the local roads network, guided by and with purposive intent towards the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This also incorporates the Provincial Road Management Facility (PRMF) in which governance reform is necessary to sustain local roads management and strengthen local capacities.

The Provincial Government is tasked to prepare a Governance Reform Roadmap (PGRR) for a term of six (6) years (2017 – 2022) to achieve the reform targets. The PGRR shall cover the following seven (7) areas of reform, Local Road Information Management, Local Road Network Development Plan, Local Road Construction and Maintenance, Local Road Asset Management, Internal Audit, Budgeting, Procurement. Prior to the workshop for the formulation of the Provincial Governance Reform Roadmap to SDGs (PGRR2SDGs) of the Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija, provincial assessment was conducted to establish the current situation of the province in relation to LRM and PFM. A series of follow-through activities are set to be conducted by the DILG in partnership with the UNDP to ensure the completion of the Provinces PGRR. The assessment results from this activity will be used for the development of PGRR particularly the annual strategic actions.
