The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Bataan has officially introduced the upgraded SubayBayan system to the Local Government Units (LGUs) during the conduct of Provincial Roll-out of the SubayBAYAN Project Monitoring and Reporting System at the Mansion Garden Hotel, Subic Bay, Freeport Area, Zambales on Oct. 22, 2018

Bataan, being the first province in Central Luzon that conducted this provincial roll-out activity, is now a SubayBAYAN ready by November 2018.

The activity aims to capacitate Data Encoder, and City/Municipality Local Government Operations Officers (C/MLGOOs) and LGU Focal Persons with the required knowledge and skills in using the SubayBayan system.

Formerly known as the Enhanced Programs and Project Management System (E-PPMS), SubayBAYAN with a tagline, "Subaybayan and Proyektong Bayan" is a portal providing the public with an accurate information on the implementation of Office of the Project Development Services Locally Funded Projects

Provincial Director Myra Moral- Soriano said during the opening remarks, "We want the public to know, na merong kaaya-ayang proyekto ang DILG. Actually, matagal na [merong kaaya-ayang projects], hindi lang naire-report. So, ito ay isang proyekto ng ating central office para maibahagi at katulong ang ating taong bayan."

She also encouraged LGUs to maintain the system so that through updating the real-time status of the local projects in SubayBAYAN, they can really show the public that the government, especially the DILG, has justifiable developments through its implemented projects in the locality.

Also, this tool is a platform for transparent governance and an arm to stop or discourage corruption in the government. Through this portal, the general public can send feedback or comments wherein the result will help improve the supervision of project implementation of the concerned LGU.

The participants were given their default usernames and passwords in order to get an access and to be familiarized with the interface of the portal during the hands-on training.
