Pursuant to Republic Act 6975 or the DILG Act of 1990, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Bataan Provincial Office brought the People's Law Enforcement Board (PLEB) of each city and municipality of the Province of Bataan together for the Provincial Roll-Out Training on the PLEB Online Database System (PODS) and PLEB Legal Skills Enhancement at the Vista Marina Resort and Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Olongapo City held on October 29 and 30, 2018.


The activity is geared to strengthen and increase the capabilities of PLEB members in the conduct of their duties and orient them on the features and functions of the PODS, as well as other skills that may be relevant to PLEB members.

 

The first day of the activity, graced by Atty. Arlene L. Castro-Co, Division Chief, Technical Services Division Chief of NAPOLCOM Region 3, was focused on the prominent features of PLEB such as legal bases, composition, and term of office, as well as the budgets and benefits of the members. In addition, Atty. Co also gave importance on the functions, jurisdiction, summary procedure and the basic principles and appreciation of evidences.

 

Moreover, the second day was apportioned for the discussion of the program background and significant points of the PLEB Online Database System. Mr. Allan Don Malonzo, PLEB Provincial Focal Person of DILG Bataan, provided a walk-through of the system to familiarize the participants on using the PODS.

 

By the virtue of the law, the People's Law Enforcement Board (PLEB) shall have jurisdiction to hear and decide citizen's complaints or cases filed before it against erring officers and members of the PNP.
