CITY OF MALOLOS, PROVINCE OF BULACAN –Following their election last May 14, 2018, newly elected barangay officials of Bulacan took oath last June 28, 2018 at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium, Capitol Compound, Malolos City.

The activity was conducted in two (2) batches. Barangay officials from the first (1st) and second (2nd) District of Bulacan constituted the first batch of officials who will take oath while barangay officials from the third (3rd) and fourth (4th) district formed the second batch.


Prior to the activity proper, DILG Bulacan Provincial Office personnel discussed the programs of the Department particularly Barangay Newly Elected Officials (BNEO) Program, Operation Listo – ListongPamilyang Pilipino and Federalism.

 

Bulacan Vice Governor Daniel R. Fernando in his message said, "Higit sa posisyon, ang pagiging isang iniluklok sa pwesto ay nasusukat sa ating determinasyon at pagsisikap na pangunahan ang ating mga pamayanan patungo sa katiwasayan at pagbabago para sa kapakanan ng mga Bulakenyo na nakatakda nating pagsilbihan. Kailangan nating ialay ang ating sarili, ang ating oras, at ang ating talino't lakas para sa interes ng nakararami,"

 

Similarly, Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado advised the barangay officials to perform their duties with utmost responsibility.


"Sa inyong panunumpa sa tungkulin ay inyong isa puso at isabuhay ang bawat salita ng inyong panunumpa at isantabi ang pansariling interes na maaaring humadlang sa pagtaguyod ng mga dakilang layuning pinagsusumikapan nating lahat," said Governor Alvarado.


Meanwhile, in his message, Guest Speaker Herminio "Bobbit" Diño from the DILG Office of the Undersecretary for Barangay Affairs commended the Provincial Government for their Kalinisan at Kaayusan ng Kapaligiran sa Barangay (KKK) Project. He also reminded the newly elected barangay officials to assume their post and perform their duties with pure intentions.


On the other hand, Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra, Guest Speaker during the second batch of the mass oath taking, emphasized their significant role in the development of our nation. "Ang inyong papel na gagampanan sa ating lipunan at sa kinabukasan ng ating mamamayan ay tunay na 'di matatawaran magmula ngayon" he said.


Lastly, during the activity, as part of the local government unit's mandate to develop, strengthen, and implement disaster risk reduction management (DRRM) projects, programs, and activities at the local level, the Provincial Government of Bulacan announced the distribution of search and rescue hand tools to better equip the barangays in times of disasters.
