City of San Fernando, Pampanga – As part of the Internet Protocol (IP) Telephony Expansion project of DILG Central Office, seven (7) Provincial Directors in the region received a mobile IP unit each during the Quality Management System (QMS) Reorientation for Field Offices held on May 15, 2018 at DILG Regional Office Conference Room, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

Said units use the Shortel Mobility Client application and are capable to connect with IP phones at the Central, Regional and Provincial Offices for free as long as they have access to the internet.

The IP Telephony Expansion Project, led by the Information System and Technology Management Service (ISTMS) of DILG Central Office, is a component of the established Wide Area Network (WAN) or direct link between the DILG Central Office and its Regional Offices which shall serve as connectivity for both data and voice thru Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). This state-of-the art technology is also aimed to improve the quality of communication system of the Department as well as to lessen its communication expenses.
