City of San Fernando, Pampanga – As part of the Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN) and IP Telephony Expansion project, DILG Central Office, through the Information Systems and Technology Management Service (ISTMS), provided and installed basic network at the DILG Regional Office, City of San Fernando, Pampanga on March 13-16, 2018.
It aims to provide a state-of-the art technology to DILG Regional Offices and Field Offices that would cater both for voice and internet communications between and among the Central, Regional and Field Offices.
The project covers the establishment of secure and reliable WAN or direct link between the DILG Central Office and its Regional Offices. The said link shall serve as connectivity for both data and voice thru Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). It also includes the deployment of firewall, proxy server, network switch, wireless access point, five (5) IP phones for the Regional Office. Mobile phones with a designated application will likewise be distributed to the Field Offices once procurement is completed by the Central Office.
During the activity, ISTMS technical staff led by Mr. Hernando Cruz and Engr. Ralph Joseph Regala demonstrated to DILG III Regional Director Julie J. Daquioag the use and operations of the IP Phone. Likewise, they conducted an orientation and hands-on testing on the IP Phone usage for the regional office staff from the Office of the Regional Director, Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD), Finance and Administrative Division (FAD), and Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED).
