PAG-ASA Weather Update

   One of the major key reforms under the Aquino administration is increased transparency and accountability in government.  Relatively, the participation of the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and other citizens’ group in attaining good governance was taken into cognizance. 

                DILG Region 3, in partnership with the Local Government Academy (LGA), conducted a Seminar-Workshop entitled, “Vigilance to Volunteerism: A Program Intensifying People’s Engagement in Local Governance (V2V: PIPELOG)”.  The first and second batches of the activity were held on November 15-16, 2012 and November 26-27, 2012, respectively at Oxford Hotel, Clarkfield, Pampanga.

   A total of sixty (60) Local Government Units (LGUs) comprising of 4 provinces, 1 highly urbanized city, 8 component cities and 47 Municipalities in Region 3 qualified for the Seal of Disaster Preparedness (SDP) Level 1 Assessment.

     The DILG Regional Office 3, together with the RPOC Technical Working Group members, had  its 2nd workshop on the Integrated Area/Community Public Safety Plan (IA/CPSP) for CY 2013-2016 in Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Olongapo City on November 22-23, 2012. The objective of the activity was to finalize the Regional IA/CPSP which was drafted last October before it could be presented to the Regional Peace and Order Council.

   DILG Region 3, represented by Asst. Regional Director and concurrent Nueva Ecija Provincial Director Abraham A. Pascua, delivered the welcome message in the e-Government National Final Judging held on November 8, 2012 at Oxford Hotel, Clarkfield, Pampanga.
