To ease the coordination between the Barangays and Olongapo City Police Office in dealing and resolving cases, the Department of the Interior and Local Government-Olongapo City conducted Orientation on Katarungang Pambarangay on June 1.

DILG-OC have encountered issues from clients relative to the different cases being brought to the police stations, but are advised to return to the barangays for the reason that they are under the jurisdiction of the Lupong Tagapamayapa. To settle such issues, the office initiated the orientation.
Investigators and representatives from the 6 police stations in the city attended the said activity.
OIC-City Director Amada T. Dumagat, DILG-OC, discussed the process of Katarungang Pambarangay. She highlighted the cases which are within the authority of the Lupong Tagapamayapa, and reversely the offenses which can be brought directly to the police.
The orientation aims to build a common understanding between the Barangays and Police Stations in settling disputes in the community.
