OLONGAPO CITY - Brgy. Kalaklan grabbed the 2016 DILG Regional Lupon Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) Highly-Urbanized Cities Category on July 4.

Punong Barangay William R. Umali, together with the Lupong Tagapamayapa of Brgy. Kalaklan, received a plaque, and cash prize of Php 50,000.00 awarded by the DILG Region III represented by OIC-Assistant Regional Director Araceli A. San Jose. City Mayor Rolen C. Paulino and DILG Olongapo City Director Amada T. Dumagat also expressed their support in the awarding.

The Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) was established pursuant to Section 406 (b) of the Local Government Code (LGC) of 1991 which mandates the DILG to grant economic and other incentives to Lupong Tagapamayapa (LT) for their outstanding contributions to attain the objectives of the Katarungang Pambarangay. It aims to give recognition to hardworking Lupong Tagapamayapa (Peace Council) for their exemplary performance in settling disputes.
