The Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Regional Office III conducted the Nutrition Communication Network (NUTRICOMNET) media meeting and forum on June 14, 2016 at the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Office 3, Maimpis, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

The media forum was attended by provincial and regional media partners and designated information officers from various agencies and institutions.

The said forum highlighted the promotion of the revised Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos (NGF) 2012 which has ten (10) simple messages on the right food consumption.

Moreover, the all-new Pinggang Pinoy, a familiar food plate model was also presented in the forum extending its reach not only on adult Filipinos but on different age groups namely; children, teen, elderly and pregnant and lactating women.

The development of both programs of FNRI was catalyzed to improve the nutritional status, productivity and quality of life of the Filipino population through adoption of effective and desirable dietary practices and healthy lifestyles in order to support and help the government's drive to address the problem of malnutrition nationwide.
