May 30, 2016, KLIR Waterpark Resort, Guiguinto, Bulacan – to the delight of Bulacan's local Inspection, Inventory and Monitoring Teams (IIMT), the top performers for the 2015 Environmental Compliance Audit all came from the province.

The City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan was adjudged as the Top Performer under the City Category. Meanwhile, the Municipality of Plaridel, and San Rafael, Bulacan were adjudged as the Top Performer and 2nd runner up, respectively, under the Municipal Category. Each of the top performing LGUs was awarded with a P200, 000 cash incentive and a plaque of recognition.

In compliance to RA 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Mangement Act of 2000, the audit includes the presence of a 10-year solid waste management plan, solid waste management board, a functional materials recovery facility and the presence of no littering- related ordinances among others.

The awards were presented by DILG Region 3 OIC- Assistant Regional Director Araceli A. San Jose, DILG Bulacan OIC-Provincial Director Darwin D. David and LG-Monitoring and Evaluation Division Chief Lerrie S. Hernandez together with the local officials and IIMTs of the winning LGUs.
