As conscious efforts in promoting peace and order and public safety throughout the Province, the DILG Nueva Ecija Provincial Office conducted a two-day workshop on the formulation of Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan for all its 32 LGUs on November 23-24, 2022 at Nueva Ecija Convention Center, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.

 and Order and Public Safety Plan", was headed by the Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr., Provincial Director of DILG NE, in partnership with the Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija headed by Honorable Governor Aurelio M. Umali.

Among the attendees were the Local Chief Executives, Chief of Police, BFP Fire Marshals, City and Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (C/MPDC), C/M Budget Officers, and the Sangguniang Panlungsod/Bayan Member – Chairperson on Peace and Order and the C/M Local Government Operations Officers.

The workshop was aimed to further equip LGUs in the formulation of POPS Plan through an extensive discussion with written outputs. Alongside this was a brief introduction and refresher to POPS Planning. The said plan is to be jointly formulated and approved by the Peace and Order Council (POC) and Anti-Drug Abuse Council – Technical Working Group (ADAC-TWG), to be endorsed to Sangguniang Bayan/ Panlungsod for adoption. The plan consists programs and activities on peace and order and public safety in their respective jurisdictions. Furthermore, the said plan will be the basis for the computation of their allowable Confidential Fund.

Per agreement, LGUs are expected to submit their approved and funded POPS plan by the end of this year.
