In collaboration with the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), Department of Agriculture (DA) and Municipality of Arayat, the DILG Pampanga joined the National Simultaneous Tree Planting Activity today, September 13, with the theme "Buhayin ang Pangangalaga sa Kalikasan" in San Juan Baño, Arayat.

San Juan Baño has been identified by the DENR as the planting site in Pampanga for the activity. The site located in Mt. Arayat is a protected area and home to different plant species.
In his message, Vice Mayor Emmanuel Alejandrino, reminded the participants on the importance of taking care of the environment. "Maswerte tayo dahil may bundok tayo sa gitna ng kapatagan. Kaya gawin natin ang parte natin sa pangangalaga nito," he said.
Meanwhile, LGOO VI Lianne Abigael T. Muñoz emphasized that tree planting can be likened to planting hope for the future.
The seedlings planted included bamboo, narra and fruit-bearing trees such as guyabano and jackfruit, and will be under the care and monitoring of the San Juan Baño barangay officials.
Representatives from PNP, BFP, AFP and local officials and personnel from LGU Arayat and target barangay also participated in the activity.
