Indigents from a remote community in Barangay Gordon Heights, Olongapo City benefitted from the outreach program of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Olongapo City on October 6, 2021.

During the event, 100 food packs, bottles of alcohol and boxes of face masks were distributed at the covered court of Barangay Gordon Heights.

The outreach program was led by Dir. Amada T. Dumagat, DILG Olongapo City Director, with the assistance of her office staff, DILG-hired contact tracers, and the local government unit of Barangay Gordon Heights headed by Punong Barangay Priscilla "Echie" Ponge.

Punong Barangay Ponge thanked DILG Olongapo City for choosing the indigents of Barangay Gordon Heights to be the target beneficiaries of their outreach program.
"Maswerte tayo dahil tayo ang pinili, kasi pwede namang mag-conduct ng outreach program sa mga indigents ng ibang barangay," Ponge said in her message.

Director Dumagat said that their office received funding from the Department to extend help to the most vulnerable during these trying days.

"Kami po ay nabigyan ng pondo ng aming Departamento para maiabot ang aming palad sa inyo, para kami po ay makapaghatid ng tulong sa mga panahong ito. Pasalamatan po natin ang ating Panginoon dahil po sa malaking biyaya pong ito," Dumagat said.
