Taking into account the important role of the barangay in the overall development and transformation of the community and the nation, the Department shall implement the 2021 Pilot Testing of the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangay (SGLGB) to encourage and challenge barangays to scale up its performance and practices of good governance that accord primacy to the principles of accountability, transparency, performance and effectiveness.

 In line with this, the DILG Aurora headed by Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr, conducted the ORIENTATION ON THE 2021 PILOT TESTING OF THE SEAL OF GOOD LOCAL GOVERNANCE FOR BARANGAY (SGLGB) on September 13, 2021 via Zoom Video Teleconferencing.

The activity was attended by the target barangays from the 8 municipalities of Aurora namely:
• Baler : Pingit
• Casiguran : Lual
• Dilasag : Dilaguidi
• Dinalungan : Nipoo
• Dingalan : Caragsacan
• Dipaculao : Puangi
• Maria Aurora : San Joaquin
• San Luis : Brgy.04

The said activity was aimed to orient the participants on the DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2021-074 dated July 5, 2021 with the subject: "2021 Pilot Testing of the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangay (SGLGB); and to train the target barangays on the SGLGB Information System.

LGOO V Rossella P. Edillor (SGLGB Provincial Focal Person), and LGOO V Florenz Zaira Buenconsejo (SGLGB Alternate Focal Person) serve as the pool of speakers.

This year, the SGLGB will follow the 3+1 principle wherein a barangay needs to pass ALL of three (3) CORE AREAS, and at least one (1) ESSENTIAL AREA.
