DILG Nueva Ecija, through the leadership of Provincial Director Renato G. Bernardino, is firm in its efforts to cause Locally-Funded Projects (LFPs) that are of the highest quality through its LFP Team. One such exemplary project is the "Local Access Road Upgrading in Brgy. Poblacion Sur-Poblacion West" under the F.Y. 2020 Local Government Support Fund-Assistance to Municipalities (LGSF-AM) Program.

The Municipality of Rizal, a continuously developing municipality in the Province of Nueva Ecija, has recently completed the road project that connects Brgy. Poblacion Sur to Brgy. Poblacion West. The newly-concreted road, with an allocated budget of Php 7,000,000.00, has a total length of 684 meters.

Concreting works began on January 6, 2021 and was completed on April 20, 2021. Now opened to the public, an estimated 7,699 residents are directly benefiting from the project.

Earlier, commuters, motorists and farmers have to traverse a muddy road during the rainy season and a dusty road during the summer season. Today, upon the completion of the project, the road is enhancing road accessibility, improving traffic flow and slowly changing the socio-economic condition not only of the residents of Brgy. Poblacion Sur and Brgy. Poblacion West but also the residents of nearby and barangays municipalities.

The Assistance to Municipalities Program aims to equitably assist municipalities in the delivery of basic services by providing financial subsidy for the implementation of priority programs and projects.
