DILG Regional Office III showcased the barangay assembly of Malpitic, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, held via Zoom and Facebook Live on November 21, 2020. This is in connection to RA 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991 which mandates the barangay to meet twice a year to hear and discuss semestral reports of the Sangguniang Barangay concerning its activities and finances and updates in local governance.

 Mayor Edwin Santiago, in his message, expressed his gratitude to frontliners and underscored their significant roles. "Nais kong ipaabot ang aking pagpupugay sa ating mga frontliners lalo na sa ating mga barangay. Dahil sa barangay nagsisimula ang pamamahala kaya lubos nating pinapahalagahan ang barangay governance. Gayundin ang importansya ng pamilya kung saan dapat nagsisimula ang disiplina. Sama-sama nating pagtagumpayan and laban sa Covid-19", he said.

DILG Regional Director Julie J. Daquioag stressed the importance of Barangay Based Institutions (BBIs) as embodied in the message of Secretary Eduardo M. Año which was delivered by DILG Pampanga Provincial Director Myrvi Apostol Fabia. RD Daquioag congratulated Barangay Malpitic for having functional BBIs. She also emphasized the importance of discipline and bayanihan. "Basta may disiplina, may bayanihan, tayo ay magtatagumpay. Disiplina ang magliligtas sa atin sa pandemya", she said.
In his State of Barangay Address, Punong Barangay Noel Tungol reported the council's notable accomplishments on solid waste management, health and nutrition, security and safety, Covid-19-related reports, and report on the implementation of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP). He also announced ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects.

Sangguniang Barangay Members discussed the barangay compliance to national laws and issuances. In addition, the financial and sangguniang kabataan report was presented by the Barangay Treasurer and Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson, respectively.

The barangay assembly was graced by representatives from partner national government agencies such as DOH, OCD, DENR, and PNP and it concluded with the virtual group photo opportunity.

Said conduct was also in accordance to Proclamation No. 599 series of 2018, DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2020-137, issued policies and guidelines by the IATF-MEID, and local ordinances.
