The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) of the Province of Bulacan conducted a two (2) day training for the newly hired Contact Tracers that was held on October 21-22, 2020 via online platform ZOOM. It was participated in by DILG Bulacan personnel and 440 hired contact tracers on the 1st day and 423 on the 2nd day.

Provincial Director Darwin D. David emphasized in his message the significant role of a contact tracer towards the goal of the government to flatten the curve.

The topics discussed were the National Health Emergency Strategic Response: Situating Contact Tracing to Local Governance, Roles and Competencies of Contact Tracing Team; Situating Contact Tracing to Public Safety; COVID-19 Signs and Symptoms & Transmission Infectious Period and Diagnosing COVID-19; Calculating Infectious Period and Why Stopping the Transmission is Important.

Other topics discussed were Steps in Contact Tracing, what is Case and a Contact, What is Isolation and Quarantine?; Contact Tracing Technology and Data Management and Confidentiality and Ethics of Contract Tracing.
