The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Zambales advocated the Disiplina Muna advocacy campaign as one of the strategies to contain COVID-19 and uphold peace and order and public safety in the province of Zambales, This was held during the Joint Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) and Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) meeting for the 3rd Quarter 2020 on September 23, 2020.

 DILG Zambales Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, presented the salient features of the latest DILG issuances on COVID-19 and peace and order highlighting the culture of discipline towards defeating the COVID-19 pandemic through the Disiplina Muna's BIDA ang may Disiplina: Solusyon sa COVID-19 advocacy campaign.

PD Bactad explained that the primary aim of the campaign is to encourage the Filipinos to take an active role in the fight against COVID-19. "We are encouraging the
LGUs to enact your respective ordinances that prescribe discipline in following the health safety standards and organize Barangay Disiplina Brigades in each barangay to advocate in the community the adherence to health and quarantine protocols in order to drive and realize the core message of this campaign," Bactad urged to the local officials.

The BIDA ang may Disiplina: Solusyon sa COVID-19 advocacy campaign emphasizes the importance of individual self-discipline and behaviour change as one of the solutions to beat COVID-19 in order to secure the safety of families and the nation.

Other matters discussed in the meeting include peace and order situation in Zambales focusing on the threats of terrorism, insurgency, ending local communist armed conflict, criminality, and illegal drugs. These were presented by representatives from the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Zambales Police Provincial Office (ZPPO) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). Likewise, accomplishments and efforts on the management of COVID-19 pandemic by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) were also shared in the activity.
