Immediately following the ceremonial awarding of the cash-aid assistance to 14 former rebels through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP), anti-insurgency focus group members sat down for a meeting on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, to further discuss provincial actions to finally put an end in the local movement against the government.

DILG Pampanga Director Myrvi Apostol-Fabia and Lieutenant Colonel Felix Valdez, Commanding Officer of the 48th Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army, laid down the succeeding strategies following the success in the surrender of a total of 24 rebels, further aiming to ultimately curb the violent extremist movement in the locality.

Also present in the meeting were representatives of the Provincial Government from the Social Welfare and Development Office for possible livelihood and education assistance programs, and the Philippine National Police for a more strengthened and multi-faceted approach in addressing the insurgency problem in Pampanga.

The meeting forms part of the activities under the Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) Program of the national government from the Executive Order No. 70 on the whole-of-nation approach against violent rebel groups and terrorists.
