The Angeles City Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging infectious diseases invited all the 33 Punong Barangays to a short briefing held on August 3, 2020. This is with regard to the strict implementation of City Ordinance No. 539, Series of 2020. This is an ordinance requiring all persons residing and visiting in Angeles City to observe physical and social distancing and the wearing of face masks until such time that a vaccine against COVID-19 is already available.

 As stated in the ordinance, the Officials who are deputized to apprehend violators are the Philippine National Police, city's Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Traffic Development Office, Health Office, Social Welfare and Development Office, and Angeles City Tourist Auxiliary. The Local Inter-Agency Task Force recommended to deputize all the 33 Punong Barangays to issue citation ticket in apprehending persons who fail to wear face masks and those loitering the streets.

Violators are directed to appear at the BAPAC Office within three (3) days for appropriate disposition of citation ticket issued. Failure to appear within three days the City Mayor will forward the case to the Office of the Prosecutor for the filing of appropriate charges. The Ordinance imposed up to P5,000 fine and up to 5 months imprisonment for those caught not wearing face masks or face covers in public places.

Present during the briefing were DILG City Director Martin Porres Moral, CSWDO Joy Duason, SP Member Atty. Pogs Suller, PNP CD Patrick Joyce Sangalang, and Executive Assistant Raffy Lazatin. This briefing was held last August 3, 2020 at Legislative Building Hall. (BAGWIS)
