Heeding the call of the City Government of San Fernando, Pampanga to clean and preserve the environment, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region III personnel participated in the city-wide clean-up day on January 31, 2020.


Equipped with brooms, rakes and dust pans, the DILG personnel cleaned the premises of the Regional Office and collected a total of 46 garbage bags of compostable materials.
The City Government of San Fernando, Pampanga issued City Ordinance 2006-010 declaring the first week of February as city wide clean-up day to strengthen its advocacy to the Fernandinos on the significance of a clean and healthy environment. This activity has become a tradition for all Fernandinos and likewise marks their weeklong celebration of San Fernando's Cityhood Charter Anniversary.
Moreover, DILG Region III adopted the Brgy. Maimpis Creek, City of San Fernando, Pampanga for clean-up and maintenance activities every last Friday of the month, as part of the Department's advocacy and on-going compliance with the Supreme Court decision on the Manila Bay clean-up, rehabilitation and preservation.
